Sounds Like Fun!

Our sound this week has been /ch/.

We found lots of words that have /ch/ in the beginning, in the middle and at the end.

Can you hear all the /ch/ sounds in our poem?

WHANAUGATANGA

Whaea Toni came into Room 5 last week and talked to us about Whanaugatanga and what  it means to belong to a group.  The children created these amazing pieces of art that represent their whanau.

We love writing!!

In Room 5 we work really hard to sound out all the words we are writing in our stories.

We listen really carefully to the word we want to write and write all the sounds we can hear.

Buddy Time with Room 9

It's been a busy Week!
So many things have been going on in Room 5 this week, a trip to the Zoo, Poly Club, Kapahaka, Assembly, sharing stories with Room 13 and finally today working with our Buddy class, Room 9.
We worked together moving our octopus from the land to the ocean and writing our equations as we went and looking at the patterns.

We then made Octopus and added their 8 tentacles and wrote the numbers 1-8 and matched the correct number of dots.
Thanks for working with us Room 9 it was great fun.
